Microbial corrosion
The term “microbial corrosion” is used to designate any form of corrosion in which the phenomena, but more particularly the damage, observed in the presence of micro-organisms differ from those observed in equivalent sterile media. Nevertheless, the corrosion is not “by” the micro-organisms, but “due to” them.
